Grief is a natural emotion when we lose someone we love.

We can also feel grief at the loss of a job or a loss of income or freedom, health, or mobility.

There can also be guilt attached to this grief that can make it harder for us to overcome.

Guilt needs to be resolved to allow us to pass through the normal stages of grief. We can go through many stages in the grieving process. Denial, anger, bargaining, and depression before we reach acceptance.

At first, we might be in denial, this can’t be happening to me. Then anger, why me, it isn’t fair. Bargaining comes into it. I will give anything to change this. Depression, what’s the point of it all? Acceptance is the final stage we much reach.

Some people get stuck in the early stages and not coming to the point of acceptance. We can help people come to terms with their grief. Overcome their guilt and move to acceptance.
